What Words Have To Say

Words are very powerful little things. Joy and I worked on putting together the words for our wedding invitation the other night and we discovered how persnickity we each could be over three sentences. I mean at the end of the day the wedding invitations will go out, but getting through three sentence was about all we could handle the other night.

It is interesting this two becoming one. While writing (actually a day later) I discovered what was so hard about coming up with the right words was the fact neither one of us could just talk for ourselves. We needed a united voice. Interesting.

"Banding" together

Thor and I went to a couple of stores to look for wedding bands. We tried on a few, talked about the quality vs. the price and overall, I think had a pleasant experience. Thor looked really good with a ring on his finger;)

He treated me to some ice cream at Coldstone since we were right near by. It was very gooey ice cream - VERY. But delicious. We then meandered around Barnes & Noble until I had to go to a meeting with women from church and Thor was off to meet his uncle John for dinner near the airport.

Most people don't say "oh let me see your wedding band" after you are married. It is always the engagement ring that gets the attention with it's flashy diamond and precious metal. But the wedding bands, are really the more important rings.

A little rhyme

From an early age they learn this little rhyme,

Thor and Joylynn sittin in a tree
K I S S I N G
first comes love
then comes marriage
then comes Thor
Pushing a baby carriage.

where they learn it is a complete mystery.

Emotional day

Yesterday, Sunday, Thor and I went to Sunday School where we learned more about the 5 Love Languages and the 5 languages of apology. Then in the evening, I went to the Women's Fellowship at Grace where the topic was "the roots of bitterness" and how we can't let them grow, we must take them and bury them at Jesus' feet. After the fellowship, I went to go see Thor at the B&B. We decided to change the location of our wedding and trust that God would work it for good in our attempt to love our parents. We cried a little but in the end were able to smile. I love you Thor.

Scan Gun of Power

Here we are registering for our wedding. We scanned a toaster first. We think it is a good toaster.
I also tried to register for the Need Help? kiosk, but it wouldn't let me. It kept giving me this error "Figure it out"
In the third picture where I scanned Joylynn the scanner said: "THAT'S YOUR BRIDE TO BE!"

We had fun.

Friday TV night

Thor and I hung out yesterday evening and watched 2 episodes of TLC's What Not to Wear. It totally got us thinking superficially about dress and hair and makeup. But it was so fun! I learned that I should not be wearing clothes that don't fit. I also learned that I need help with makeup application. Thor pointed out that men are never the subject of this show - it's always women.

You know I wouldn't mind being a fashion snob if I had more time and money. If I got on that show they would have to teach me how to spend money on clothing and how I can wake up, get read in less than 10 minutes and still look like a million bucks. Ok...., but you know what? Even if I don't have the clothes, I have the hair... At church it distracted some woman sitting behind me. After the service, she says" I just want to let you know I've been admiring your curls" Weird but laughable.
